Overview

A lake base with rail days out. One high viewpoint and one easy valley walk, so the week is not only windows from a carriage. Lucerne or Interlaken is the usual hotel. Zermatt and Geneva are not added to the same week.

Expect precise timetables, higher prices, and scenery that is worth both. Pack layers. Valley mornings can be cool when the pass is in sun by noon.

FAQ

I'm a solo traveller, is there a single supplement?

Yes. Swiss singles are priced clearly on each departure.

Which currency is most widely accepted on this tour?

Swiss francs. Cards are widely accepted. Euros are not reliable in smaller stations.

Should I book pre/post tour accommodation?

Useful in Zurich if you land late. The tour hotel is on the lake, not at the airport.
