Six days from Vienna to Hallstatt, with rail between the city and the lakes. You spend two nights in Vienna for palaces and coffee houses, then move west so the mountains are not a day trip bolted onto a city stay. Walks are short, transfers are timed, and there is space to sit by the water.
This is a first Austria trip for people who want scenery without a packed coach list. Expect cool evenings, good trains, and villages that are quieter before the day groups arrive. Pack a light layer and shoes that can handle a wet lakeside path.
Check in, short orientation walk around the first district, and a free evening. Dinner is independent so you can eat early after a flight.
Morning at a palace or the Ring, afternoon unscheduled. We leave a long lunch gap so you are not stacking two ticketed sites.
Train to the Salzkammergut. Afternoon village walk and check-in near the water. Luggage stays with the transfer so you are not hauling bags through stations.
Arrive before the coaches. Waterfront walk, optional viewpoint, and a late lunch. The rest of the day is free by the lake.
A short ferry or bus hop to a quieter town. Easy walking, then return for a group dinner.
Morning train back toward Vienna or onward. We time the first train so most international flights still work the same day.
Yes. Solo travellers have their own room. The supplement is listed on the departure and is usually about 30 percent of the land price.
Euro. Cards work in Vienna. Carry some cash for lake towns and small cafes.
Book an extra Vienna night if you land late on day 1 or fly out after 15:00 on day 6. We can hold the same hotel.
