Island hopping without the rush

Two islands beat five. Sleep where the last boat leaves early.

The mistake is treating islands like a checklist. Every ferry costs a morning. Stay two or three nights so you see a place after the day boats leave. Swim before breakfast. Eat where the grill is still on at 8pm.

Book the first and last transfer. Leave the middle open. Weather changes hop plans more than your spreadsheet does. A flexible middle night saves a missed connection.

Pack a dry bag for the deck. Wear shoes you can get wet. The photogenic jetty is often also the slippery one.
