Street food nights in Bangkok

Follow the smoke, sit where locals sit, and stop after the third stall.

Bangkok at night is a kitchen. Look for a stall with a short line and a wok that does not stop. Sit on the plastic stool. Order one plate, then decide if you want another street.

Chinatown and the river markets are easy starting points. Go with cash in small notes. Drink bottled water. If a stall is famous on every reel, walk one block further.

Leave room for fruit and a late juice. The best nights are three good dishes, not a food-tour marathon. Sleep in, then take a longtail when you want the city from the water.
